Sputnik V sends application for rolling review in EU
MOSCOW, Feb 18 (PRIME) -- The producers of Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V have sent an application for a rolling review of the vaccine in the E.U., according to a statement seen by PRIME on the Twitter account of the vaccine late on Wednesday.
"Sputnik V has sent an application for a rolling review, the next step is an application for market approval," the statement read.
According to the statement, the European Medicines Agency has already appointed a speaker for the rolling review process, and the agency will report on the start of the procedure on its website soon.
The producers also said that they want Sputnik V to be out of politics and it can be produced in the E.U. Russia can also deliver a significant amount of the vaccine made on its capacities after the main phase of vaccination in Russia ends in June 2021.
